After Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (French, 1827-1875), "Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass", bronze sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte mounted on his rearing horse, based on the idealized equestrian portraits of the French Emperor crossing the Alps painted by Jacques-Louis David between 1801-1805, signed "Carpeaux" on reverse base edge, foundry stamp "European Bronze Finery" beneath tail, mounted on ovoid black stone plinth base with felted underside, wear consistent with age including light scratches and wear to finish, overall: 12" h. x 8 3/4" w. x 4 7/8" d.
