TWO FRENCH CAMEO GLASS LANDSCAPE BUD VASES, DEVEZ AND D'ARGENTAL, SIGNED, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the deVez vase of slender bottle form and sides with a continuous layered acid cut scene of an island with small rural structures amidst tall trees and verdant foliage, centered in a tranquil lake before distant mountains and seen looking through long leafy draping branches above blossoming shoreline foliage, in hues of deep purple, iron rust red shading to brown on a pale yellow ground, cameo signature "deVez," height: 9 1/2", diameter: 2 3/4"; together with a D'Argental vase, from workshop of Paul Nicolas, Nancy, 1919-1925, of baluster form and sides with a continuous layered acid cut scene of a small peninsula with rural structures amidst tall trees, jutting from the banks of a wide meandering river within rolling hills as seen from a hillside through a cluster of tall stone pines, in colors of dark burgundy and claret shading to lighter tones on a pale lemon yellow ground, cameo signature "D'Argental," height: 8", diameter: 3". Both vases have negligible surface wear from use, and the tiny spec about 6 o’clock under the “deVez” signature amidst the foliage, was viewed under a jewelers loop and found to be an imperfection from its’ inception when the thin layers of glass were being applied a small bubble appeared exposing the lighter layer underneath.
