John E. Huszer.Rhode Island,1912-1983
Impressionist depiction of a pale somber man playing the cello in a graveyard amongst tombstones. Huszer studied at the National Academy of Design and the Arts Students League in New York, later moving to New England to teach art. He is credited as being the founder of the Wickford Art Festival in Wickford, Rhode Island, an event that is still held yearly.

Signed "J. Huszer" lower right corner, signed "Huszer" and titled "Cello Player in Graveyard" on verso, includes a "John E. Huszer Estate" stamp to stretcher on verso.
