Description
George Washington: 1806 Commemorative Textile. We all know the legend of George Washington and the cherry tree ("I cannot tell a lie!") which first appeared in Parson Weems' biography of our first President. This 11" x 12.5" textile on glazed cotton appeared around the same time the book was published. It is titled: "The Love of Truth Mark the Boy". Outside of some slight aging, it is in great shape and has been attractively matted and framed. It is Threads #39.
