2 volumes, 8vo (112 x 192 mm). Title-page vignettes, 6 engravings. (Toning, occasional spotting). Original brown cloth, stamped in gilt and blind (recased preserving endleaves, original spine cloth lacking, hinges reinforced). FIRST EDITION. Volume I in BAL's binding C, extra gilt bilding, marked 25th thousand to title page. Volume II in BAL's binding B (no priority), marked 15th thousand. Stowe's abolitionist novel credited with changing the attitudes of the American public towards slavery and Black Americans. BAL 19343; Grolier American 61.
