Three George III Folding Pocket Sovereign Balances
England, first quarter 19th century, each with folding brass and steel instrument, self raising within an unmarked portable folding mahogany box, fitted with graduated sovereign weights; the longest with circa 1802 trade label of William Dobson (British, 1797-1847), and Birmingham anchor marks to weights (1 x 7 1/8. x 1 1/4 in.); the shorter two cases unmarked, weights include British Lion standard mark (1 x 5 3/8 x 1 1/2 in.).
