Two Sets of Coin Weights with Scales, Late 19th century
both in wooden cases, to include: a likely French set consisting of a brass balance scale and twenty (20) conforming weights naming European coin denominations (1 x 7 x 3-1/2 in.); plus a Spanish set with a scale and seven (7) brass weights, the designs of which harken back to the hammered cob coinage of the 17th and early 18th centuries (1-3/4 x 6 x 3 in.).
