Description
A lot of WWI era Austro-Hungarian medals, the Iron Cross of Merit with the Crown. A total of four items, three marked FJ for the emperor Franz Josef, one marked 1916. The Civil Cross of Merit was a decoration of Austria-Hungary established in 1850. It was awarded to reward loyalty and devotion to the Emperor and land. The decoration came in four classes. During the First World War, the award was extended to include the Iron Cross of Merit with and without a crown on April 1, 1916, for the duration of the war.
