Herman "Kofi" Bailey (American, 1931-1981). Lithograph on paper, with green ground to plate area, signed and dated 73, titled, and numbered 26/200 in margin. Also personally dedicated below margin "To Bill, Love and struggle, Kofi Shabazz '77".
22" x 17.75" (plate size), 31.5" x 25.5" (framed).
Bailey was a noted African American artist, born in Chicago, studied in Los Angeles, and was associated with many of the leading painters and philosophers associated with the Harlem Renaissance. His images in conte crayon and subsequent lithographs of figures were his best known subjects.
