Description
1872 P.T. Barnum Circus Autobiography Authors Edition Struggles and Triumphs
Phineas Taylor Barnum is remembered primarily for the founding of the Barnum and Bailey Circus, but he was also a writer, politician, businessman and showman. A truly fascinating account of Barnums experiences. However, Barnum was known to often exaggerate or expound on stories he told to further their entertainment value. Numerous critics assume this is the case in his autobiographical work, thus why it is oft referred to as Barnums “Dishonest truthfulness” (Reading).
