Description

An Eric Owen (1903-1974) Figural Bookend UK, mid-20th century

Glazed earthenware
Owen was chief modeler and sculptor at Wedgwood from 1946 to 1967. During this period, this design was trialed in blue Jasperware, but never put into production. The design itself is earlier, predating Owen's employment at Wedgwood; the present example was made during his period at Minton's.
