Description
Original piece of hardtack inscribed by a Spanish-American War soldier. The cracker, which is remarkably complete, was inscribed in ink as follows: James O'Hara, Co. C, 23rd Regt., Quarter M'Sergeant, Conewago PA.
O'Hara's rank likely put him in frequent contact with the hardtack he saved from his service during America's war with Spain in 1898.
[Spanish-American War, Teddy Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, World War One, World War 1, WW1, World War Two, World War 2, WW2] [Civil War, Union, Confederate]
