Description
Professionally framed clipped signature of Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard. The clipping reads “rec’t, G.T. Beauregard” in bold, elaborate script.

Pierre Gustave Toutant-Beauregard was a Confederate general officer of Louisiana Creole descent who led the attack on Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861. Beauregard also held several key commands in the War’s Western Theater, including at Battle of Shiloh and the Siege of Corinth. He returned to Charleston in 1863 and defended the city from repeated naval and land attacks. He is perhaps most known for his defense of Petersburg, Virginia in June 1864, which delayed the eventual fall of the Confederate capital of Richmond, Virginia until April 1865.

Beauregard’s signature was framed with an engraving of the General, both of which along with the frame itself are in excellent condition and ready to display.

This signature is certified under our Authenticity Guarantee program. For more details, please visit fleischersauctions.com.
