Description
Gold 19 c. pin inscribed with the name “Lieut. Ephraim Middlebrook,” an officer who was killed during the American Revolution at the Battle of Ridgefield in 1777. This piece was likely worn by one of his descendants in the late 1800s at functions or meetings held by the Sons/Daughters of the American Revolution. A “Robert Brown Wheeler” and “Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Perry” are listed as members in those societies, respectively, at the end of the 19th century.
Measures ~3 inches in length. Lovely piece.
