British, early 19th century, attributed to James Newton, each with circular marble top on faux painted circular support, Greek key supports resting on finely carved stylized fish with parcel gilt scales, faux painted pedestal bases, 39 x 20 x 20 in.

Provenance: Phillips of Hitchen, Ltd., Hertfordshire; Acquired from the above by Sir Sydney Barratt (d. 1975) for Crowe Hall, Bath on January 16, 1963, Sotheby's, 25 October 2019, lot 789 for $6,250; A Prominent Charleston Estate

scattered surface wear, abrasions, and losses to faux painting (some possible resurfacing and retouch, minor shrinkage cracks at top, underside of top with unused wooden screw hole, other base with small patch at underside
