West Africa, Mali, Djenne peoples, ca. 14th to 15th century CE. A fine pottery vessel boasting a unique form of a hemispherical bowl with a folded rim supported by 2 legs that bow outwards and then meet at the discoid foot. Enveloped in remains of white, black, and orange pigments, the impressive dish presents sturdy walls and a convex foot with a jagged periphery. Size: 8.2" Diameter x 8" H (20.8 cm x 20.3 cm)
