Description

DESCRIPTION: Bronze planter featuring pheasant, songbird, and (possibly) Fenghuang (Chinese phoenix) designs in high relief on and around a blossoming branch in low relief near etched water and foliage imagery. Piece is embellished with floral and lingzhi (ganoderma mushroom) designs in low relief around lip. Piece is marked on underside "Great Japan" in kanji characters in relief indicating Meiji era origin.
