For your consideration is a 2nd Octavo Edition of a JJ Audubon (1785-1851) lithograph of a Pipiry Flycatcher from "The Birds of America". John James Audubon was an American artist, naturalist, and ornithologist. The art shows excellent attention to detail. This is from plate #55, subscription #11 and was printed and colored by J.T. Bowen in Philadelphia in 1856. This lithograph includes a two page story from "The Birds of America" explaining how JJ Audubon found inspiration for this drawing in the Florida Keys. The pages measure 10 1/2" L x 6 3/4" W.
