Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande Blue and White Porcelain Bucket. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, thick and bulbous body, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the wide flaring mouth rim, raised on ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue and white color, depicted of thrashing Lishui wavy waves and neck banded with arrays of tropical leaves patterns. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish - blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue - black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under - base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years Xuande Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
