DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a signed, dated, and titled collage by American artist Jane Hammond. The piece is entitled Thing (Red Rabbit) and is pencil signed by Hammond. The piece features about 70 individual black ink line illustrations of objects, faces, animals, toys, and food. Some of the illustrations are painted with watercolor. Each piece is on Gampi paper that has been glued together to make a tapestry-like texture. Hammond has signed the piece in pencil as follows: 1999 "Thing" (red rabbit) Hammond. The piece features portraits of Andy Warhol, Mahatma Gandhi, and the Buddha.
PROVENANCE: This original, one-of-a-kind piece was purchased through the Greg Kucera Gallery in Seattle. There is a gallery label on the piece's backing board from the Greg Kucera Gallery. This sale will include a copy of an Appraisal of Value from the Greg Kucera Gallery. The Appraisal of Value is signed by the gallery owner, Greg Kucera.
