Classic heart form. Over 5/8" width (0.69"). Stylized with the cusp expressed as a pair of wings and thee body with nubbed sixth points, a common feature. Raised border with a beaded border within surrounding the central heart depicted in addorsed foliate sprigs. That feature evidently had spiritual significance, now lost. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored on a gilt Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
