Description
A fine Lincoln relic, a lock of a few tiny strands of his hair presented with a fragment of the flag that hung from his funeral train displayed in a 22 x 18 in. decorative gilt frame. The lock of hair was originally presented to Lincoln’s Secretary, EDWARD DUFFIELD NEILL, who also founded the Macalester College where the hair was first purchased. A detailed account of who owned the hair starting with Neill is attached to this lot on the verso of the frame. Fine condition.
