Description
Excellent grouping of nine different original pencil drawings of an artilleryman's views and ranges to various structures accomplished on both sides of individual 13 x 3.75 in. beige heavy stock cards. The drawings, signed by soldier Joseph Berkowits and dated October and November, 1918, variously show farm structures, towers, factories, chateaux, a bridge, schools, etc., and individual distances to each. Additionally, each has tack holes at corners, which indicates they may have been used in the field, perhaps tacked to a bunker or blockhouse wall. Very good.
