Fine World War II relic, a 67 x 92 in. blanket from the U.S. Army Medical Department. This white wool blanket features two burgundy horizontal stripes at the top and bottom edges, and the embroidered text ‘M.D. U.S. ARMY’ at the center with ‘1944’ at the bottom. The bottom right corner bears a tag declaring the maker as ‘American Woolen Co. Inc.’ and its origin the ‘Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot’, along with the date ‘Apr. 22, 1944’. The tag also gives information such as item and type numbers, fabric type, etc. Fine condition.
