Medal bar belonging to a nurse of the Spanish Civil War, bearing seven medals and matching ribbons. Included: Women's Auxiliary Military Health medal with two 'Constancia' clasps, Red Cross Women's Nurse's Medal, Official Blood Donors medal with a gold ‘Viva Espana’ bar on the ribbon, Spanish Civil War Medal for Suffering of the Country two gold bars on the ribbon reading ’10-X-1936’ and ’29-X-1936’, Red Cross 1936-1939 Campaign medal, Spanish Civil War Campaign Medal 1936-1939, and an Order of Medhauia. Housed in original 4 x 2 in. brown leather case. Some tarnish and oxidation here and there, overall very good. Sold with reference book: ‘German and Spanish Military Rings’ by Stephen J. Shaw and Mike Lovell (Pennsylvania: Kollektor Press), 2021. 326pp. 8vo., collector’s edition, no dust jacket. This book shows details this exact medal bar. Shaw inscribes and signs in blue ink on the title page. A heavily illustrated book detailing military rings seen from World War I, World War II, and the Spanish Civil War.
