Description

Group of three inlaid marble pietra dura plaques. One depicting Brunelleschi's Duomo in Florence, Italy, one depicting a seaside landscape, the Gulf of Naples, with two mountains rising in the distance, and one depicting four small birds perched on a branch surrounded by butterflies. Each framed.
(Florence) Unframed; height: 2 3/4 in x width: 4 in. Framed; height: 5 1/4 in x width: 6 1/4 in. (Naples) Unframed; height: 6 3/4 in x width: 8 3/4 in. Framed; height: 9 1/4 in x width: 11 1/4 in. (Birds) Sight; height: 9 1/4 in x width: 6 1/2 in. Framed; height: 12 in x width: 9 in.

Condition

All three pieces are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or major losses. Under UV light, none of them show any sign of restoration. In the artwork depicting birds, there is a small loss to the back of the second bird from the bottom, which seems to be original to the work. There is a minute accretion to the right side of the red butterfly. Frames have light wear, consistent with their age and use. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
