FABERGE - RUSSIAN IMPERIAL SILVER and DIAMOND ENAMELLED PERFUME BOTTLE
A Russian silver and enamel perfume or glue bottle, base on three legs with a dainty brush. Engraved base, legs and neck of the bottle. The inner edge of the neck is inlaid with stones. The engraved brush has a blue stone on the top. Nice Faberge item. When you touch and hold a piece of FABERGE sterling you are in contact with something very special coming down to you not only from the era of the czars but of an ancestry far more ancient: for it is typical of all the imperial courts there have ever been.
HALLMARKS: '88' silver Russian standard next to a woman's head in a kokoshnik, turned to the right, 'FABERGE' in Cyrillic and the initials of the master 'A.H' in Latin for FABERGE's jewelry head master August Holmstrom - please see information below.
CONDITION: Very good for age. The item is described to the best of our knowledge. Please refer to pictures and email with any questions.
DIMENSIONS: 2 3/4 inches (7 cm). Weight: 67.6 grams.

WORKMASTER: August Wilhelm Holmstrom (Swedish August Wilhelm Holmstrom, 1829, Helsingfors, Grand Duchy of Finland - 1903, Russian Empire) is a Finnish jeweller, a master of the firm of Carl FABERGE in St. Petersburg. He studied at the Petersburg jeweller Herold, in 1850 became an apprentice. In 1857 he became a master and founded his own workshop. In the same year he took over the management of Gustav FABERGE's workshop in St. Petersburg. Along with the well-known FABERGE eggs, Holmstrom created a number of high-quality, exclusive and valuable ornaments that are currently stored in the Hermitage.
