Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua, Carretas, Casas Grandes, ca. 1060 to 1340 CE. A hand-built pottery jar of bulbous form and tan coloration decorated with geometric motifs in red and black on a cream-hued ground. The vessel exhibits a round but stable base, a carinated body with a sloped shoulder, and a petite, flared rim. Intricate patterns envelop the exterior, consisting of nested steppe designs and linear and dotted motifs. Size: 9" Diameter x 8.9" H (22.9 cm x 22.6 cm)
