Description
French Provincial Louis Philippe Carved Walnut Marble Top Commode, mid 19th c., the reeded edge rounded corner highly figured grey marble over two frieze drawers above double cupboard doors, on ogee block feet, H.- 39 in., W.- 51 in., D.- 21 in.
Condition
Key works for bottom cabinet but not for drawers which are currently locked. The marble top has minor surface scratches. At the bottom of the proper right cabinet door, there is an area where the wood has been replaced. There are some scattered areas of minor woodworm damage throughout. Towards the rear of the proper left side, there is some separation at the back of the upper panel. Wear is consistent with age and normal use. This is a handsome example.
