1719 Norton, Mass. Two Freeholders Tax Assessment Lists
January 4, 1719-Dated Early Colonial Era, Pair of Manuscript Documents, Freeholders Tax Assessment List of Residents, Norton, Massachusetts, Very Good to Fine.
An early Pair of Property Tax Documents from Norton, Massachusetts from the years 1718 and 1719, comprised of a lengthy list of "Freeholders" of property in the town and the tax assessments assigned to each. One Document measures 12.25" x 7.5" and has some heavy dampstaining, some paper loss where the ink has burned through and has a repaired split on the back of the horizontal centerfold. The second Document measures 6.5" x 7.25" and is of nicer quality, yet lacking its upper left corner and some of the text from that area. Both Documents were signed by the assessors or selectmen of the town. These numerous early names should be further researched. (2 items)
