Description

JACQUES LEMAIRE OPERA GLASSES

This is an original pair of French opera glasses (also referred to as theater binoculars or Galilean binoculars) manufactured by Jacques Lemaire, Paris, circa 1890. The objective lenses are about 28mm in diameter. Bee hallmark on center bar. The piece is in generally good condition with appropriate patina for its age, see condition report.

These glasses were made to expand but are presently stuck. Lenses are in good condition. There is a crack in the pearl on the left eyepiece, see photos.
