Pam Foss (American b. 1944), bronze 'Inquiry,' 1982, depicting Genuine Risk, the first filly ever to win the Kentucky Derby, and Codex, her rival in the controversial 1980 Preakness Stakes, Genuine Risk lost that race to Codex on a call that was considered incorrect, that call cost her the 1980 Triple Crown, the two horses depicted striving for the finish line, rising on a naturalistic base, the whole resting on a rectangular white marble plinth, signed, dated, and editioned 4/15 to base. Note: This sculpture is held in the collection of the Kentucky Derby Museum.
