Attributed to Willem De Kooning (1904-1997) Dutch American, Oil on Newsprint. Orange, pink, white and rose red paint on newspaper (New York Times, Tuesday, August 27, 1974). Signed in pencil on the lower left at the bottom. Willem De Kooning is a Dutch-American abstract expressionist artist. De Kooning's works throughout the mid-twentieth century established him as one of the great artists of the New York School, which included Pollock and Rothko. He continued producing both paintings and sculptures until his death in 1997, and is considered a seminal artist of the abstract movement. Overall size: 26 1/2 x 18 1/2 in. Sight size: 22 x 13 1/2 in.
