Description
Standing Female Carved Wood Fertility Figure with Glass Bead Belt. Stylistically resembles similar "Nyeleni" feminine figures made by the Bamana people of present-day Mali. Angular and abstracted figure with tall crest in the crown of the head, ears with holes for attaching adornments, decorative patterns on upper chest and abdomen, and pointed breasts counterbalanced by exaggerated buttocks. Includes belt of colored beads.
Dimensions are 19 in h x 3.75 in w x 3.5 in d. Condition is good, with general surface wear, partially broken ear and foot, consistent witih age and use. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
