Description
A pair of Chinese canton enamel covered vases, dating from the 18th century. Each vase has rectangular base and is four sided, front and back are wide sides. The vases have an S curve with two ornate handles on the curving necks. Rectangular covers with beast finials. Sides decorated with painterly scenes of Chinese life with figures and buildings of the time. Deep recessed base.

Provenance: collection of a private New Jersey collector
Condition: one covered vase is in good condition with losses of gilding, the other vase has restoration done to the neck and one of the handle,cover with restuck foo lion finial
