With a six-character Chenghua mark at their base. Together this two dishes tell the story of a carp transforming into a dragon according to a traditional Chinese legend. Painted in underglaze blue, the front side of one dish is decorated with two big/small carps emerging from the roaring waves in the center, the other decorated with a dragon leap into the air with a carp left behind in the waving water, the center medallions of both dishes are enclosed by a band of ocean wave along the outer edges. The dish with dragon has a few minor glaze jumps along its top rim, no further damages or restorations, otherwise both in very good condition. Please refer to the photos for more details.
