Exceedingly rare Olmec terracotta clay head / fragment of a sculpture dating back to 1100-550 BC. The creme slip is characteristic of the region of Las Bocas. The Head fragment measures 2.5 inches, on its custom base it is 4.75 inches tall. Provenance: Ex Harmer Rooke Galleries, New York , 1980's. Ex Dr Brian Healy estate, New York.
