Signed (lower left), Early 20th century work, in good condition. The texture is rather poetic, depicting a coastal landscape, but with a masterful mobilization of the color palette, a sense of calm and hazy beauty.

Desire Haine, Belgian 20th century artist/painter, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, worked in Holland, France and Germany, and settled in the Oudelheim region of Belgium after 1947. His works are mainly interior decoration, still life, landscape oil paintings and even self-portraits. His works are characterized by the use of geometric color blocks and abstraction. His works can be found in the Museum of Brussels and the Musees Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique in Liege, with self-portraits in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium.
