Born in 1948 in Port of Spain (Trinidad & Tobago), Gillian GOCKING spent her childhood on various Caribbean islands and in London. At the age of 20, she moved to Paris, where she studied graphic design, notably at the Beaux-arts. She will spend most of her life there. Practicing with the same happiness painting, sculpture, engraving, installation, she traveled the world. From the works of Gillian GOCKING, emanates a feeling of freedom evoked by a multitude of forms, and above all by a bold and sensitive display of colors. She settled in Cologne in 1985, where she still lives and creates today. Her work has been exhibited in London, New York, Kinston, Cannes, Basel, Düsseldorf, Grenoble, Paris, Briançon, and of course in Cologne, where the Ludwig Museum has acquired some of her works, which are also present in important public and private collections. 6" x 8"m 11 1/2" x 14" (frame)
