The Tucker sisters, Catherine (Kate) and Ethel, were born in Bermuda towards the end of the 19th Century and spent most of their lives there as painters and shop owners. However, they were in New York City, where they received formal art training at the New York School of Applied Art. Their mother, Leonora Tucker, had art talent, and it is written that the girls inherited her talent.
