Description
Western Europe, probably Italy, Neoclassical period, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A gorgeous pair of 68% rose gold earrings, each featuring an agate cameo of a winged Cupid - Greek Eros - the Roman god of love seated upon a rock as he catches a fish on a line. Each ovoid carving is set in a lovely bezel with a twisted border and an earring clasp to be wearable. Size (earring): 0.72" W x 1.05" H (1.8 cm x 2.7 cm); (cameo): 0.45" W x 0.61" H (1.1 cm x 1.5 cm); gold quality: 68% (equivalent to 15K+); total weight: 10.1 grams
