Peary, along with brief accounts regarding other explorers such as Adolphus Greely, Fridtjof Nansen, Sir Ernest Shackleton, and more!
Notably, this first edition account was published prior to the public rejection of Frederick Albert Cook’s claim by the University of Copenhagen in December, 1909 and ends on pg. 428. Later editions would include a four-page summary of the rejection of Cook’s claim at the end of the book, pg. 429-432.
