1939 First Day of Issue 100th Anniversary of the Game of Baseball Envelope, Postmarked Jun 12, 1939, Cooperstown, N.Y. Signed by Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, George Sisler, Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Eddie Collins, Connie Mack and Larry Lajoie. This highly sought-after Commemorative Envelope features a first day of issue with a 3-cent stamp. The cache illustration features a portrait of General Abner Doubleday, an image of the Doubleday Field inscribed The Birthplace of Baseball and an image of The National Baseball Museum. The caption reads "BASEBALL CENTENNIAL." This envelope also is stamped with a Baseball Centennial Stamp, the first baseball stamp issued by the U.S. government. This item comes with a letter of authenticity issued by FEC.
