A Chippendale carved mahogany chest of drawers Philadelphia, PA, circa 1780
(H: 33 in. W: 41 1/2 in. D: 21 1/2 in.)
Molded edge top, two short drawers, over three graduated long drawers, molded base, shaped ogee feet.

A Greenville, Delaware estate.
Loss to edge of right corner drawer
Condition
nice presence overall, wonderful figuring to wood; two-board top; prominent loss to top left corner edge of right-most top drawer; top two drawers and bottom two long drawers with plugged holes that are oddly positioned next to the brasses; top-most long drawer possibly with replaced bottom board and runners; drawer faces with minor losses, age cracks, chips, and occasional patches to edges commensurate with age and use; top surface with a few plugged holes along back edge; the feet possibly replaced, with evidence of probable later wood blocking and supports, the faces having a crispness along edges with some scuffing and minor chipping; right-facing side with old sticker remnants; brasses are replacements, but period appropriate; brass handle on right-facing side of bottom-most drawer is detached but present (in plastic bag), but missing the two screws that hold it in place; top right drawer with missing lock; minor wear along front facing edge of base molding
