published by simpkin, marshall, & co. 1849.
all removed from original volume.
henry and wife mary ann meyer produced illustrations of british birds in 79 parts over the years 1835 to 1841 with more than 300 hand colored lithographic bird plates and their eggs.

overall good condition. puffin plate has been darkened near the top edge. light foxing on some prints.

From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
