German, 19th century. Two porcelain Meissen figures of a lady holding a bird cage and the other presenting apples. Gilt and decorated with floral motif. ht. 9.75, wd. 3.5, dp. 3.5 inches and ht. 5.5, wd. 3.5, dp. 2.5 inches.
Overall good condition. Slight chip on the hat of one figure.
From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
