Continental, 18th century. A large, green earthenware bowl with milky white foliate motif. Unmarked. dia. 14.5, ht. 4.75 inches.
Overall good condition. Small bubble and round impression that seems to have occurred during firing.
From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
