serial number 96519 in five places, .31 caliber 4 in. octagonal barrel with ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK CITY on the top flat; cylinder engraved with stagecoach robbery scene; COLTS PATENT stamped on left of blued receiver; nickel plated brass straps and trigger guard; two-piece walnut grips. The pistol's lidded mahogany case has a key with working lock; the interior contains a brass powder flask with patriotic themes, a iron bullet mold, an English tin of percussion caps, and a few round balls.
