17th century, a copper engraving on paper, engraved by Natalis fromt he painting by Sebastian Bourdon (1616-1671). 16.5" x 20" (sheet size), 26" x 28.5" (framed).
From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
