A Chinese famille rose bowl
Guangxu period
With six-character Guangxu mark to the underside.
H: 3 1/2, Dia: 10 in. (H: 2.86, Dia: 9.53 cm.)
Provenance: Ms. Sherman, Colorado. The collection was inherited from her grandfather, John H. Reisner. Mr. Reisner went to Nanjing in 1914 and stayed until 1928. Mr. Reisner was an agriculture expert from Cornell University and went to Nanjing to help setup the agriculture department at Nanking University. These items were collected during the time Mr. Reisner was in China.
Guangxu period

With three firing defects and a glazed chip to the rim, a firing detect to the foot.
